Local Activities
The motel itself has a BBQ area to relax in, and a children's playground. But the magic is that just outside your front door is a sandy beach with surf patrol in summer. Walk or ride a bike at low tide along the beach, catch a wave or surf cast for fish for dinner. A café operates across the road in summer. Kite surfing, sky diving and fishing charters are available. A massage and beauty therapist is based a short walk away. Ruakaka Kayaks operate the kayak hire in the river, and also led eco tours of the wildlife reserve.
